FT Chapter 11 (SUN)
The last apparition at Fatima took place on October 13, 1917. Our Lady appeared and said, “I want to tell you that a chapel is to be built here in my honour. I am the Lady of Rosary. Continue always to pray the Rosary every day. The war is going to end, and the soldiers will soon return to their homes” (Fatima for Today, 105). “Our Lady has asked for chapels before” (Fatima for Today, 105), I think of especially St. Mary Major (Our Lady of the Snows). Our Lady tells us that she is Our Lady of the Rosary (she is the patroness of the Diocese of Duluth). Our Lady tells us to keep praying the Rosary daily for the conversion of sinners and for peace (this means we should be doing this even today). She gave the message that the First World War will be over soon. What a great message Our Lady gives to us.
Than “Looking very sad, Our Lady said: ‘Do not offend the Lord our God anymore, because He is already so much offended” (Fatima for Today, 108). We too are sad when we see people getting hurt especially the innocent. Well, Jesus is innocent, and every sin hurts Him (it hurts us too). We shouldn’t want to offend God so we should try to get rid of all sin.
Than what the young seers saw was different than what the crowd saw. The children saw Our Lady, St. Joseph with the Child Jesus, Our Lady of Sorrows, Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Fatima for Today, 109). While this was happening the crowd of 40,000 approximately saw the sun dance, saw different colors come out of the sun and they didn’t hurt their eyes looking at it. This was the promised miracle that Our Lady promised for the world to believe. What a gift Our Lady gave.
Now we must be part of Mary’s army and use the weapon she gave us.
