Announcement: Preparation for Total Consecration

TOTAL CONSECRATION TO OUR LADY

On Friday, April 28th, we will begin Preparation for Total Consecration: To Jesus Christ through Mary .  (If you need to order the book, I have made a link to Amazon on this, but I always recommend trying to get it from the local Catholic Bookstore if possible).  For parishioners, I have books available.  The book above, by Fr. Hugh Gillespie, takes the writings of St. Louis De Montfort.  St. Louis De Montfort is the Saint who gave us the Total Consecration.  It takes 33 days to make the preparation.  I will blog (journal) like I have been doing for the Introduction to the Devout Life .  This means that I will write about the topic, the day after we read it.  It is my hope that we read it first and try to struggle through what the author is trying to teach.  Than we can read what I am being led to write.  (I will not promise that the writing will be good, if it helps, praise God).

For those that are in the area.  We will make the Total Consecration on Wednesday, May 31 during Mass at either 9:00 am at Our Lady of the Snows in Bigfork, or at St. Catherine’s in Squaw Lake at 6:00 pm.  This is the Feast of the Visitation.

Those who are making the Total Consecration for the first time, or renewing it should come.  I first made my Total Consecration to Our Lady in 2005.  I will renew it again because every time I do, I grow in my love of God.  Mary, my Mother, Our Mother, brings us to Jesus.  She, who we are consecrated too, takes us to Jesus.  We never ever worship Mary because worship is for the Most Holy Trinity alone!!!  When we make Consecration to Our Lady, we are truly giving ourselves to God because Mary is perfectly devoted to God.  She is praying for us to be the same with Him.  We humble ourselves in going through her to Jesus.  In making the preparation, one may do all the prep work and feel at this time that the Consecration shouldn’t be done, that is okay.  There are people who struggle with Mary, I suggest making the preparation, this will help.  Don’t be afraid, we are honoring Mary, worshiping God.
