I am in Rome on Pilgrimage.  Know of my prayers for all of you.  Thank you to Fr. Ernie Martella from the Crosier Fathers and Brothers for being here to celebrate the Masses this weekend.  He will be doing an appeal for money for the missionary work that the Crosier Fathers and Brothers are doing in the area of the Congo in Africa.  Please be generous!  If any emergency arises while I amaway please leave a message at the office and Carolyn will periodically be checking messages and will be able to take care of it.

It is the Easter Season and I hope we are enjoying it!  What a gift Jesus resurrection is.  Without it Heaven would not be open to us.  It is with His death and resurrection that we are able to go to Heaven if we are prepared when we die.  Bask in His generous gift.  It is truly beautiful and totally unearned on our parts.  Since this is the fourth Sunday in Easter there are three more Sundays of Easter and then Pentecost.  Easter lasts for fifty days and then on the fiftieth day Pentecost is celebrated.

So at our baptism we symbolically died with Christ and rose with Him.  We have in this way experienced the resurrection.  And for those who have gone to confession recently, they too have experienced the resurrection.  What a truly AWESOME gift is Jesus’ resurrection.  We should thank Him for it.
