Happy Easter!!! Lent is over and the Easter Season is here. Let us celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. What a gift!!! Jesus died for our sins and opened the way to Heaven. Now all we have to do to be ready is to live the life that Jesus has called us to live. That is, a life that says your death means something to me every day. What a gift His life was. And here Jesus dies for our sins. But that is not the rest of the story, the rest of the story is that Jesus conquers death. Are we willing to accept His gift? Does His death and resurrection mean something in my daily life. This is what it is about. Thank you God for the gift of your Son. Thank you for His sacrifice upon the cross and opening the way to Heaven.
It is interesting that every Lent we try to do something to help us detach from this world and be focused on the world to come, and many times at Lent we failed to keep up with what we were going to do, or once Lent is over we go back to what we were doing before. Maybe it is time we resurrect and live out the life that Jesus is calling us to. Maybe this season of resurrection should be a time to leave all earthly concerns and desires (pleasures) behind and follow Jesus. Not exactly the message we plan to see on Easter, but really the message that we all need to receive. Yes, it is Easter, and yes, Jesus died for our sins and resurrected. But His death is in vain if we don’t live out the life that we are called to do. It is Easter, and so now we must continue to leave all sin behind and follow Jesus. May God open our hearts to receive His resurrection in our lives!
