Part 5, Chapter 12

My Dad and Mom have taught me a lot. They showed me how to love. They did the best they could with me. I learned so, so much from them. They have helped me in my ministry work to be more loving and caring. My Mom was always volunteering and helping people. My Dad was honest and a hard worker. They gave me great examples. Now I am not saying that my parents are perfect, but they have done the best that they can. Nor am I saying that my parents are saints, but they have helped me by their lives to understand how important the Saints are.
The Saints show us how to live the life of faith. They show us that it can be done, that we too can be Saints. We need the example of the Saints. We need to hear what they did and how they lived. Their writings speak to us of the beauty and awesomeness of God. And they pray for us even today.
We need to get to know the Saints! They are our best friends who are in Heaven. They intercede for us and they love us. They want more and more for us to be with God in Heaven. Thus, knowing what the Saints did and how they lived is important for helping us to be devout.
