FT Chapter 4 (School of the Angel Continued)

FT Chapter 4 (School of the Angel Continued)

Every good teacher comes to reinforce the message.  Well, the Angel of Peace returns for the third time to make the children ready for Our Lady when she will come (even though the children don’t know she is coming).  He comes today with the Eucharist and it suspends in the air over the Chalice and the angel worships our Lord present in the Eucharist (Fatima for Today, 34).  What a great reminder to all of us that our Lord is present in His Eucharist.  Jesus is present Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity.

The angel again teaches the children a prayer:

“’Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly, and I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges and indifference with which He Himself is offended.  And through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners’” (Fatima for Today, 34).

Like any good teacher, the angel teaches the children to pray the prayer three times each day.  The angel than goes on to make sure the children are nourished.  “The angel then rose from where he was kneeling, took the chalice and Host into his hands and offered Eucharist as Holy Communion to the children” (Fatima for Today, 35).  Wow, this is big.  Lucia has received our Lord already in Holy Communion, but her cousins have not.  So Francisco and Jacinta receive their First Holy Communion from the hands of the angel.  What a great blessing the children receive.  “The angel said to them [while giving them Communion]: ‘Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men.  Make reparation for their crimes and console your God’” (Fatima for Today, 35).  This is exactly what the prayer that the angel taught them does, so does bowing down in worship of the Blessed Sacrament.  What a great gift it is to receive our Lord in Holy Communion.

Fr. Apostoli goes on to explain in this chapter how to worship our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.  His explanation on what are sacrileges, outrages, and indifference is very helpful.  We should make reparation and pray the prayers the angel taught.  We too are being taught by the angel.
