This week is my last week writing on the Corporal Works of Mercy.  The important thing to do is to remember to live out not only the Corporal Works of Mercy but also the Spiritual Works of Mercy.  Both are needed.  We, as Catholics, are called to live these out in our daily lives.  Maybe there is an area that we have ignored, and now we are feeling a tug at our heart to work on.  We are called to support the poor with almsgiving.  Whether we give time or money we can help the poor who are in need.

GIVE ALMS TO THE POOR

Donate money to organizations that have the ability to provide support and services for those in need.  Do research and find organizations that put people in need first, rather than profit.

  • Skip the morning latte and put that money in the collection basket at church.
  • Find a charity that is meaningful to you and volunteer your time or donate.
  • This Lent, give up eating out at restaurants.  Pack your meals and donate the extra money to charities.
  • Participate in Operation Rice Bowl.

Coming Soon:

Kyle Clement will be here at St. Catherine’s to give a repeat of his mission that he gave us this past winter.  Join us on Saturday, August 6, from 9 am until 4 pm.  Please bring something for potluck to share for lunch.  His mission this winter was well received, and he is looking forward to doing this one day mission.  This will allow those who work and who are snow birds to attend.  Please pray for God’s blessings upon this!  Thanks and may God bless you all, and I hope to see all of you there.
