Well, I am back from Rome, but I will be taking off right after Sunday Mass as I have my class for Spiritual Direction this week in Chicago.   Know of my prayers for y’all when I am away.  If during the week an emergency arises, call the office and leave a message.  Carolyn will periodically be checking messages throughout the day.

As many of you may or may not know, this year the Church is celebrating the Year of Consecrated Life.  It is for those men and women who have made religious vows and are serving as Sisters, Brothers and Consecrated Virgins in the Church.  What a great witness these men and women have been for the Church, and they do vital work.  I am so grateful for their witness.   I know that both brothers and sisters have helped me to be a better man, and they have helped me to be a better priest as well.  So in this year of Consecrated Life, which began on November 30, 2014, and will end on February 2, 2016, please pray to God, thanking him for those in Consecrated Life, and ask the master of the harvest to grant to the Church many more men and women who will faithfully serve the Church in this way.  I hope, in the future, to have some sisters come and visit our three parishes for the weekend.
