September 28, 2014

Thank God my brother is married and my parents are moved!!!  That feels nice.  Well, now that those events are over, it is time to do other things.  Speaking of other things.  I am leaving after Mass today to travel to Chicago for class, which will actually be a retreat.  I am going to be on silent retreat in Chicago from Sunday, September 28 until Monday, October 6.  This will be my annual retreat, it is a little early this year as I am in this three year program for spiritual direction.  Please pray for me while I am on retreat.  I return to the diocese on Monday, October 6 and go to Two Harbors for Clergy Conference.  I will be there until Thursday, October 9.  This year we will be studying about funerals.  I will return on Thursday, October 9 in the evening.

This year, as many of you know, the Diocese of Duluth is celebrating the 125th anniversary of the founding of the diocese.  So the weekend of October 4 & 5, the diocese will Celebrate Mass for Our Lady of the Rosary.  The readings for the Masses will not be found in the Missals.  Maybe, we will make some copies available with the readings in the entrance of each church.  What a great celebration for our diocese!!!!  Pray the Rosary to celebrate our diocese and our patroness, Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary.  Praying the Rosary is a beautiful way to follow the life of Jesus and to meditate (ponder, think) over what Jesus has done for you and me.  I always will encourage praying the Rosary.  October is a month dedicated to the Rosary.  If the Church gives a us a month dedicated to it, it must be important.  If anyone doesn’t know how to pray the Rosary, each church has pamphlets on how to pray this beautiful prayer. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!!!!
