Helping my parents getting ready to move has been an experience.  On the one hand, there is all the logistics, where, when, how and what.  That is, where are they moving?  When are they moving?  How are we going to move them?  And what are we moving?  Well early this week, my parents and I made some decisions about the when and how.  My parents will be moving into an apartment (which is totally their choice) on the Tuesday after my oldest brother gets married in the cities.  I believe that they are going to have me and some other family and friends move them.  And the plan is to move what they need and some of what they want to move.  Since the house hasn’t sold they will have some time to deal with figuring out what else they want.  But that is the logistics.

There are also the emotions, the saying good bye to the house and a lot of the stuff.  This past Monday, I believe that we had the last family meal in the house.  In the house are many memories that we will carry with us.  But the house will now be in the possession of someone else who will do something different with it (it might even be torn down).  And now we will have a different place to meet, and so there is some grieving that my parents, my brothers and I are going through.  It is quite natural.  The important thing is to talk about it with each other and to the Lord.

Changes come to families and the important thing is that we talk about them with the Lord and each other.  Please pray for the upcoming move which happens later this month.
