It is summer around here.  After are long and WARM Winter I am ready for it.  Lots going on in our lives.  There are graduations, weddings, Confirmations, First Communions, Vacation Bible Schools, camps, and so much more.  Summer is a time I look forward to as a priest as it brings a change of pace.  I am sure that families look forward to the warmer weather and the time to do vacations.  Enjoy this summer and remember when it gets hot ( and it will get HOT), remember how cold it got this Winter and lets be thankful for what we have.

This weekend I am blessing vehicles after the Masses.  Next weekend I will be giving away some medals and holy cards from the pilgrimage I took to Fatima and Lourdes.   I may share about the trip in the future.

This weekend we celebrate Pentecost (the birthday of the Church).  This is the day when the Church started; if anyone asks, we can tell them this.  The Holy Spirit came down upon the Apostles leading them to go forth and preach the Gospel.  The greatest witness the 12 gave is that 11 gave their lives in preaching the Gospel.  They were martyrs for the Church and it is out of the blood of martyrs that the seeds of the Faith were planted.  The Holy Spirit calls you and me to preach the Gospel.  He leads us forth with our different gifts to do this.  Each of us is given gifts to build the Church.  Ask the Holy Spirit for these gifts and the courage to use them in proclaiming Jesus Christ!!!!
