Day 31
“Reflect on the wounds and sufferings of Christ crucified” (Preparation for Total Consecration, 108).
Jesus’ suffered so much for us. Why? LOVE!!! Today, look at these images of love that our Savior did for us.
Jesus was scourged for love. Remember they weren’t nice in this, they didn’t show any mercy. They did more than 40 lashes and the skin and flesh were ripped off. He never once complained. Love did this!!!
He was crowned with thorns. They didn’t just place it on the head they pushed it with sticks into His head. One went through the eye socket. OUCH!!! Why? LOVE!!!!
Carrying His cross He did too. No complaint was uttered. He lovingly carried His cross even in His weakness. Love drew Him onward
Jesus gave His life for us on the Cross. Nailed to the cross and feeling cramps going through His whole body. He could barely breathe and yet He spoke seven phrases for us. He suffered all of this for LOVE!!!
And Mary His Mother met Him along the way while He carried His cross. She stood at the cross and watched Him die. Can we imagine what it was like to hold Him in her arms after His death on the cross? Love did this. LOVE!!!
