Februrary 8, 2015

This week I am headed to class in Chicago.  Please pray to God for His blessings on the class.  I will be there for spiritual direction training along with about 80 other priests from around the country.  Each year, I will be attending three one week sessions.  This is the first year of the three year program, and this is the third week of the first year.  I will be gone from Sunday afternoon on February 8th, until late evening on Friday, February 13th.  During this time there will be coverage in case any emergencies happen.

What a great blessing it was to have Brendan Case here!!! Our parish mission went great!!!!!!!!!!   Please, if there were healings that happened during the mission, please, let me know.  There were so many blessings that came from the mission.  I hope, in the near future, to figure out where we will go from here with regards to the mission.  Thanks for all that helped to make our mission a huge success!

We will soon be into Lent, it is just around the corner.  It will begin Wednesday, February 18th with Ash Wednesday.  Are we ready????   What are we going to do for Lent this year???  Maybe we are going to attend the Stations of the Cross each week at our parishes.   Maybe we are going to start going to confession on a monthly basis. Maybe we are going to pray the Rosary each night as a family.  Maybe we will attend daily Mass one day more per week.  There are so many things that we can do for Lent, so it doesn't have to be just giving up something.  Now is the time to ask God what is it that He wants us to do for Lent?  Too often we plan right at the last minute for Lent.  But now is  the time to prepare ourselves to be ready to receive all that God wants to do for Lent.  Oh, and maybe God is asking us this Lent to make some big, big sacrifices, like maybe this Lent is the Lent that we finally give up watching television.  Be not afraid to ask God if this is what He is calling us to do!  May God bless you and keep you all safe!!!!!!!!!!!!
