Merry Christmas!!!  Keep on saying it!!!!  I hope all y’all had a beautiful celebration.  I know I did.  I hope people picked up our Christmas book: The Real Story, by Edward Sri & Curtis Martin.  It is a quick read and very helpful for “Understanding the Big picture of the Bible.”

We just celebrated Christmas, Mary Mother of God, the Holy Family and we are celebrating the Epiphany this weekend.  We still have the Baptism of the Lord, then the Christmas Season will be over.  As I said last week, celebrate Christmas now and enjoy it.  I am in the midst of making a Christmas puzzle.  And, I am watching Christmas movies and singing Christmas songs.

Welcome to 2016; 2015 is behind us and now we look to a new year.  A new year reminds us that we can begin anew.  That we can start over, maybe it is time to get to confession so that the new year can start off on the right foot.  Maybe it is time to let us experience God’s mercy.

This year, I will be leading a pilgrimage to Rome for the year of the Mercy.  It looks to be a beautiful pilgrimage.  If anyone is interested in going to Rome in mid September let me know and I can get you the details.

Have a great week, and it is not too early to think that Lent is just around the corner.  It sneaks up on us this year as Ash Wednesday is February 10th.  And, Easter is March 27th.  That means we won’t have much Ordinary time after the Baptism of the Lord, about a month and Lent is here.  Okay, that is the big picture, now lets go and celebrate Christmas!!!!
