Another year has come and gone!  And a new year is here.  Every year we come to this new year, and we make resolutions.  How did we do on last years resolutions?  I imagine if you are like me, the resolutions could probably be the same ones that we work on this year.  So it is a new year, what are we going to do so that our resolutions become realities?  Because truly our resolutions are about helping us to become the best version of ourselves.  That is why we make resolutions, we know that we can do better and we want to do better!  So what are we going to do to help us reach our goal this year?   Well, I think the first thing I would suggest is that we ask God to help us with our resolutions (even if our resolution is to pray more).  God wants to help us to become even better.  He doesn't want to see us struggle, He wants us to be the best that we can possibly be.  So ask God for the grace to do this.  It has in Scripture, “Ask and you will receive.”  So ask.  Another thing that we can do to help us achieve our resolutions is to have somebody that we can check in with and talk about how we are doing.  We need someone to be accountable to.  If someone is a true friend, they will want to help us to grow and keep our resolutions.  And finally the last thing to do is to be forgiving towards ourselves when we fail to keep our resolutions.  We will make mistakes, and we will, at times, do pretty poorly on resolutions.  So we are going to have to be a little less hard on ourselves in those moments and ask God for the grace to get back up and continue to work on the resolutions.  Having resolutions is a good thing, now we just need God’s help to do them and keep them.   May God help us to keep our new year’s resolutions!!!!!!!!!
