We are celebrating Corpus Christi!!! I love Corpus Christi!!! It is fantastic. Who wouldn’t like to celebrate it? This is why we celebrate Mass. The Body and Blood of Christ is the center of our Eucharistic celebration!!! Our Lord gives us His Body and Blood. Yes, I know it appears to be bread and wine, but when the words of Institution (Consecration) are said by a validly ordained priest, they truly become the Body and Blood of Christ. A good book, which I have a copy of and so does OLS, is Eucharistic Miracles, by Joan Cruz. In this book it gives examples of times where the Eucharist not only changed in substance, but the accidents (look, taste, feel, smell) changed too. I was able, in my pilgrimage to Rome, to see the Eucharistic miracle that took place in Lanciano, Italy, in the 8th century. What a blessing it was to pray in front of our Lord. It really moved me to pray in front of His Real Presence. It is great today to be celebrating Jesus’ gift to us. His Presence inspires us. Enjoy this celebration on this day.
