Part 5, Chapter 13
GOD IS LOVE!!! And for all eternity He has planned for every human being to come into being. He breathed life into us. But more than anything He has loved us and still loves us. He has a perfect love for every human being.
You and I are loved by God; we wouldn’t be here otherwise! “Be sure…that the heart of our most dear Lord beheld you from the tree of the Cross and loved you, and by that love he won all good things that you were ever to have, and amongst them your good resolutions” (Introduction to the Devout Life, 200). God loves us, and He desires that we live a holy life. He longs for us to do this. “The loving heart of God thought of my soul, loved it, and prepared endless means to promote its salvation, even as though there were no other soul on earth of which he thought” (Introduction to the Devout Life, 200). God knew that at this moment and at this time that you and I would be reading (writing) this blog. He knows everything we will do, whether good or evil, and yet He loves us!!!
Hear this: GOD LOVES US!!!!
We have a hard time believing this, but the more we grow in the Devout Life, the more we will begin to believe this. God longs for us. He wants us to know how much He loves us. Take time to stare at the crucifix because this is how much He loves.
