This week is clergy conference for the Diocese of Duluth. We will be learning about spiritual healing. That is, we will be learning about Exorcism and Deliverance. This is a much needed topic to learn about as more and more people turn away from God and dabble in things that they shouldn’t. Please pray for our time in Duluth. With the conference I will be away until late on Thursday night. If there are any emergencies during this time, please contact the office and Carolyn will be checking messages on a regular basis. I will be the one on emergency coverage as all the priests will be in Two Harbors for the conference. Know of my prayers for y’all while I am there. There will be Mass on Friday in Bigfork.

Last weekend it was announced about some modifications coming to our Liturgy. There will be two modifications. (1) Right after the final blessing, we will pray the St. Michael Prayer, which Pope Leo XIII asked us to do, and then we will sing the recessional hymn.  (2) We will be praying the Communion Antiphon instead of singing a hymn at Communion. There are four options given in the General Instruction of the Roman Missal. Saying or singing the Communion Antiphon is the first option, whereas singing a hymn at Communion is the fourth option. Preference is given to doing the first option, so that is why we are going to do this. This will allow for more silence at Communion time. I know some will enjoy this change, but many are going to struggle. Please be patient, I believe in the end that we will really enjoy having the silent time to talk with God. Thanks!!!
