TC Day 20 (Potential)

Day 20

There is a difference in a glass that is a quarter full as to one that is half full.

And yet there is a difference between a half full glass and one that is completely full.

A glass that is filled a quarter of the way is filled to only a ¼ of its max; it still has ¾ of its potential.  Whereas a glass that is filled half of the way is filled to only a ½ of its max; it still has ½ of its potential.  Whereas a full glass is filled to its max, there is no more room for water or any other liquid to be added to it, hence the word full.

If you and I are glasses filled with water, most of us would be quarter to half full.  Now Our Blessed Mother would be a glass that is full.  “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you” (Luke 1:28).  “She was full of grace when she was greeted by the Archangel Gabriel and was filled with grace to overflowing by the Holy Spirit when he so mysteriously overshadowed her” (Preparation for Total Consecration, 77).  Because she is full of grace, because she is full of God, because she is living completely in His will, Mary can and does intercede for us (because this is the will of God for her).  Mary can give us grace because this is the will of God for her.  I know that I keep repeating the same thing over and over, but we need to realize this.  “From day to day, from moment to moment, she increased so much this two-fold plenitude that she attained an immense and inconceivable degree of grace.  So much so that the Almighty made her the sole custodian of his treasures and the sole dispenser of his graces” (Preparation for Total Consecration, 77).  Why, because it is the will of God for her to do this.  Mary, who is totally full of God, is able to give graces to us.  God has given her this ability since she will always do His will in doing that.  WOW.  There is nothing else to say.
