TC Day 23 (Imitation)

Day 23

When I was little, I remember playing: Follow the Leader.  We copied what the leader did, if he raised his right foot, so did we.  If he blinked, so did we.  We did what they did.  It was a form of imitation.  We should want to be like Jesus, we should want to be like Him.  We should imitate Him.  Jesus is perfect love, why wouldn’t we want to live like that.  “The Most High God came down to us in a perfect way through the humble Virgin Mary, without losing any of his divinity or holiness” (Preparation for Total Consecration, 83).  Jesus came through Mary (the new Arc).

She gave birth to Jesus because He made the choice to come through her.  “It is likewise through Mary that we poor creatures must ascend to Almighty God in a perfect manner without having anything to fear” (Preparation for Total Consecration, 83).  Following Jesus is what we are called to do, we should do what He did, and still does.  “So it is also through Mary that we must draw near to God and unite ourselves with him perfectly, intimately and without fear of being rejected” (Preparation for Total Consecration, 83).

Mary is going to show us the way; she who is humble and who is faithful.  We have nothing to fear in letting her lead us, we have only to let go of our control and plan.  Mary doesn’t have a plan or control, for she lives God’s will, she breathes it; this is what Mary is all about.  Imitate Jesus and go through Mary!
