TC Day 27 (Running Full Speed Ahead)

Day 27

In high school I did track, while okay I should say I did the field portion (Shot Put and Discus).  I always enjoyed watching the distance runners run the mile (1600 meters is what they run although it is just under a mile) or the two mile.  The 1600 and 3200 basically start and finish at the same point.  So if we were to stand at the start, we would also be at the end.  At the beginning of the race, a runner’s focus is not to pass the start line until the race begins.  At the end of the race, the focus is to pass the finish line before anyone else.  Notice where the focus is: the start/finish line.

Our focus at the beginning and at the end is JESUS CHRIST!!!  “Jesus, our Savior, true God and true man must be the ultimate end of all our other devotions; otherwise they would be false and misleading.  He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end of everything” (Preparation for Total Consecration, 100).  All prayer is always focused on God.  So when we ask Mary to intercede for something, we are really focusing on Jesus.  He is the savior; Jesus’ name means “God saves.”  “We are given no other name under heaven by which we can be saved” (Preparation for Total Consecration, 101).  God saves us, we can’t save ourselves.

God is our all in all.  “He alone is everything to us and he alone can satisfy all our desires” (Preparation for Total Consecration, 100).  God is everything, we are nothing.  He is the only one that can save, and He is to be our focus throughout life.  We are to turn to Him always.  We are to run the race; we are to keep Him as are focus.  We are to run full speed ahead!
